Welcome to the Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club Master Association web site.  Gulf Harbour is located in south Fort Myers on McGregor Boulevard. Gulf Harbour sits on the banks of the Caloosahatchee river just 4.5 nautical miles from the crystal blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and minutes by boat or car from both Sanibel and Captiva islands. Our Marina accommodates boats up to 100ft and is a gateway to what some describe as the best fishing in the world.  The Country Club offers a full service spa, fitness center, tennis program, and eighteen holes of championship golf designed by Chip Powell. The Master Association manages the community roads,  security, landscaping, and  communications for all of the homeowner's in this beautiful community.

WATER CRISIS ALERT!
Irrigation Schedules

May 12, 2009 -  Beginning Immediately, the total amount of re-claimed water supplied for irrigation will be reduced by 30%. Failure adjust your property irrigation cycles to comply with the community watering schedules will result in widespread water shortages that could compromise all of the Community, Club, residential landscaping, and the Golf Course.

Due to the record setting drought, the supply of re-claimed water available for purchase from the County for irrigation of the community, Club, and residential landscaping, has been reduced by 30%.  It is expected to remain at lower levels for at least another month. At the same time, the use of water by Gulf Harbour residents in the Community has increased. Over the past 12 days the Community has used over 3.6 million gallons of water in excess of that supplied by the County.

The water level in the re-claim water surge lake (located near the North Gate by #8 Golf Hole) is now lower than the level necessary for the pumps to operate reliably.  Consequently, water usage on a daily basis cannot now exceed that supplied by the County, and water rationing must be instituted to manage this situation until such time as we get relief from the drought from the summer rains.

Beginning immediately:

The golf course will set their pumps to use 30% less water

The Master Association will reduce water consumption 30% by instituting the following procedures effective immediately.

The pumps will only be operated between the hours of 12am and 5am  to make water available to those communities scheduled to receive irrigation water on a particular day.

The pumps will be operated between 7am and 12pm on Monday & Thursday to facilitate irrigation system maintenance in the community.

All residents will be required to adhere to their allotted 2 days per week watering schedule as published on the Master Association web site.

No new landscaping will be planted by the Club or Master Association  and encourage residents and communities to do the same during this period.

The Community will receive updates on the situation by e-mail, websites, channel 95 & bulletin boards
